Spring 2025 Information

This information is for the Spring 2025 season.

CYB has divisions for Foal (ages 4-5) through Pony (ages 13-14) for Spring 2025. Division ages are based on the player's age as of April 30, 2025.

NOTEThe registration will automatically default to your child's division based on their league age (i.e. age as of April 30, 2025).  If you will be requesting a Play Up to a higher division, please register for the defaulted division and then complete and submit a Play Up Request Form by email to:

Division Age Cut-Offs

Foal Division - Players Born Between 05/01/2019 - 04/30/2022
Shetland Division - Players Born Between 05/01/2018 - 04/30/2019
Pinto Division - Players Born Between 05/01/2016 - 04/30/2018
Mustang Division - Players Born Between 05/01/2014 - 04/30/2016
Bronco Division - Players Born Between 05/01/2012 - 04/30/2014
Pony Division - Players Born Between 05/01/2010 - 04/30/2012

Practices & Games

Teams will have two days a week of baseball. One day during the week (Monday-Thursday, with possible Fridays) and the other day is on Saturday. You will not know your player's date and time of practice/games until the schedule is finalized. You will be notified by your coach once the schedule and team rosters are finalized. Times and locations will depend on your team's division. The only way to request dates/times is to volunteer to manage/coach. 
 

Equipment

CYB provides jersey, hat, and socks to all registered players.

Players need to provide:

  • Baseball glove
  • Cleats (non-metal)
  • Baseball Pants
  • Batting helmet
  • Cup
  • USA Stamped Baseball Bat (BBCOR not allowed in Pinto division)

ASSESSMENTS - JANUARY 11TH (Pinto, Mustang, Bronco)

Please read below carefully regarding Assessments

Players with an active (not WAITLIST) registration for CYB Spring 2025 (Pinto, Mustang, and Bronco level) will need to attend assessments on Saturday, January 11th, as follows:

Pinto (7/8U) (Chase Field 2, 3349 Harding St, Carlsbad, CA 92008):

Check in times are based on First Initial of Last Name

Last Name A-L 8:30 AM Check-In; Assessments to start promptly at 9:00 AM

Last Name M-Z 10:30 AM Check-In; Assessments to start around 11:00 AM

Mustang (9U/10U) (Chase Field 1, 3349 Harding St, Carlsbad, CA 92008):

Check-in times are based on First Initial of Last Name

Last Name A-L 7:30 AM Check-in; Assessments to start promptly at 8:00 AM

Last Name M-Z 9:30 AM Check-in; Assessments to start promptly at 10:00 AM

Bronco (11U/12U) (Chase Field 1, 3349 Harding St, Carlsbad, CA 92008):

12:30 PM Check-in; Assessments to start promptly at 1:00 PM

Chase Field Warm-Ups (Chase Field 3, 3349 Harding St, Carlsbad, CA 92008):

Warm-ups are throwing only - no bats or hitting allowed on warm-up field.

Please adhere to the following schedule for warm-ups:

7:30 AM - 8:00 AM: Mustang (last name A-L)

8:30 AM - 9:00 AM: Pinto (last name A-L)

9:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Mustang (last name M-Z)

10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Pinto (last name M-Z)

12:30 PM - 1:00 PM: Bronco

*Priority will be given based on assessment time, and space may be limited for warm-up, so come ready to play! NO BATTING ALLOWED on Warm-Up Field.*

SHETLAND AND FOAL DO NOT ASSESS

Please take time for parking into consideration and plan accordingly to ensure you are on time for check-in and assessments.

General Guidelines for Assessments

Assessments are mandatory for all players (Pinto, Mustang, Bronco) to be eligible to be drafted. Any players who do not attend assessments will be randomly added to a team after drafts have been completed. We STRONGLY encourage participation in assessments.

- IF YOU ARE ON WAITLIST you will not assess. You will be contacted if a spot opens up after assessments.

- Please be patient with our volunteers as we cannot predict exact times for assessment groups or completion.

- Please adhere to your assigned check-in times. All players will check in at the registration table at their respective fields and placed into the next available assessment group based on the order of arrival.

- Players should have their own baseball equipment including a glove, batting helmet and bat (no guarantee league equipment will be available during assessments)

- Baseball practice attire is preferred, but cleats are not required

- As assessments are completed, please exit the field and area immediately so the next group can come through. You do not have to stay at the field after you are done assessing.

Team notifications (from coaches to their respective teams for ALL divisions)

CYB Coupon Days at Dick's (coupon sent via e blast, posted on website below, and circulated to coaches to disburse to teams)

Saturday, February 1st

FIRST Practices (specific dates, times, and locations to be distributed by coaches to their teams)

February & March

CYB Clinics for Shetland (6U), Pinto (7/8U), Mustang (9/10U), Bronco (11/12U) & Pony (13/14U) (more details to come soon)

Saturday, March 1st

FIRST Games; OPENING DAY

Picture Day (time will be provided to coaches prior to picture day)

AllStar player nominations (details to be sent to coaches)
