March 12, 2021

We are excited to begin our Spring baseball season and happy we can get our kids back out on the fields.  Health and Safety is our first priority.  Please review our updated Spring 2021 guidelines:

Player, Coach and Parent Guidelines:

All individuals participating in CYB activities should take their temperature and self-monitor for potential COVID symptoms prior to participating or attending each CYB activity. Anyone with symptoms of fever, cough, or worsening respiratory symptoms, or any known exposure to a person with COVID-19 should not attend any CYB activity until the CDC guidelines to discontinue quarantine or self-isolation have been met.

The following general guidance must be adhered to at all times:

  • Face coverings to be worn when not participating in the activity (e.g., in the dugout or on the sidelines).
  • Face coverings strongly recommended to be worn by coaches, support staff and observers at all times, and in compliance with the CDPH Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings.
  • On the field, face coverings are recommended and mandatory only if at any time social distancing less than 6 feet is necessary.
  • Observers maintain at least 6 feet from non-household members.
  • Mixing with other households prior to and post any practice or competition must strictly adhere to current gathering guidance.

Hygiene and Equipment Sanitation

  • Equipment is not to be shared during an activity
  • Participants need to maintain good hand hygiene (wash hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer) before play, during breaks, and after the conclusion of the activity.
  • Players and coaches must sanitize their hands regularly (CYB has provided hand sanitizer to each team but we also encourage everyone to use their own as well).
  • Players should clearly mark personal equipment such as hats, bats, helmets, gloves, etc. so as not to cross contaminate with other players. Personal items (gear, water, etc.) must be stored in player’s own gear bag when not in use.
  • Parents should disinfect all personal equipment (bats, helmets, etc.) before/after practice and games.
  • Coaches should disinfect all team equipment (protective gear, bases, tees, field equipment, etc.) before/after practice and games.

Physical Distancing

  • Maintain at least six feet of distance between players, coaches and others to the maximum extent possible, including when on the sidelines.
  • Spectators must not enter player areas (on the field of play or bench areas).
  • Limit number of observers to ensure physical distance can be maintained, reduce potential crowding, and maintain capacity limits.
  • It is recommended to limit spectators at practices and games to immediate household members to the maximum extent possible.
  • It is strongly recommended individuals should not congregate in common areas or parking lots following a practice or game.
  • Once practices or games have concluded, please leave the area - do not remain to watch other games to keep crowds to a minimum.
  • Spectators are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and spread out for social distancing reasons, please do not congregate in the bleacher areas on any field.

Additional Guidelines

  • No huddles, handshakes or "high fives".
  • No spitting or eating seeds, gum, or other similar products on all fields.
  • No team snacks or drinks shall be provided / shared at this time.
  • No sharing beverages of any kind - players must provide their own, and please label containers.
  • CYB operated snack bars will remain closed until further notice.
